On March 13, Mykolaiv youth and civic activists attended an internship at the Tavrian Painting Workshop social enterprise.
The uniqueness of Tavrian painting lies in its marine and steppe themes, which reflect the rich cultural heritage of our region. This art conveys the spirit of local traditions, combining images of crafts, including fishing, and natural motifs, said artist Lyubov Paraniuk. The coloring features are based on natural materials: lime, ultramarine, blue and yellow clay.
“We tried to show the beauty of Tavrian painting, to tell about the peculiarities of the color scheme, the main elements, and its philosophical content”, — says Lyubov.

Visitors to the workshop had the opportunity to try their hand at being an artist and create their own small postcard.
“I learned a lot of new things: what a Tavrian ornament is, how it is drawn, what types there are, what colors are used. I really liked the practical part,” said participant Oleh.
At the same time, the participants learned:
🔹 how social entrepreneurship works on the basis of an NGO;
🔹 how to make and sell hand-painted souvenirs;
🔹 how to develop a social enterprise concept.
