Young filmmakers from Mykolaiv (aged 14-21) have a unique opportunity to participate in this year’s REC Film Festival in Berlin. This has been made possible thanks to the work of Oleksandr Senkevich, Mayor of Mykolaiv, in developing international partnerships, particularly between Mykolaiv and Berlin.
The REC Film Festival is an international festival of young cinema, which annually brings together talented young directors, producers and screenwriters from around the world to present their work, exchange experiences and learn from film industry professionals.
This year, the festival will take place on 17-21 September.
👉 Mykolaiv Water Hub, MY ART Platform, and Mykolaiv Development Agency are announcing an open competition among youth teams aged 14 to 21 to submit their own films for participation in the festival. The selected team will present their film in Berlin, have the opportunity to learn from leading industry experts, and upon their return will be tasked with organising a screening of films from the REC Film Festival in Mykolaiv later this year, creating new opportunities for cultural exchange between the two partner cities.
“This is a unique opportunity for our young people to tell their stories to the world and bring world youth cinema home to inspire others,” said Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevich.
Expenses for participation (workshop attendance), travel, accommodation and meals are covered. The deadline for applications is 25 July 2025. Application form: https://bit.ly/rec_berlin_myko
It should be noted that our young people will be able to participate in this film festival thanks to the signing of a memorandum with the Berlin district of Tempelhof-Schöneberg.
