Trampolines, mazes and colored balls: IDP children visit “Happy Land”

March 19, 2025

On March 18 and 19, children with the status of internally displaced persons visited the “Happy Land” in Mykolaiv for free.

We wanted to give the children joy, positive emotions and an opportunity to escape from their difficult realities. The smiles on the kids’ faces are the best proof that this day was not in vain.

“The children are happy, and we, the adults, are happy. We have a lot of positive emotions. We try to distract the kids as much as possible: the older one is engaged in various crafts, the younger one is entertained and has maximum contacted”, — said Kateryna, an IDP whose home was destroyed by the war.

This is the second time Milana, a displaced person from Donetsk region, has attended the event. Her mother Karina says she likes it very much.

“She loves these rooms. We are glad that we are invited and that we can visit for free. The child is almost four years old, and we have been in Mykolaiv for almost two years”, — says Karina.

We thank everyone who contributed to the organization of this event and made it possible.

The event was organized thanks to the joint efforts of City Center shopping mall, Happy Land children’s center and Mykolaiv City Development Agency.
