On 1 June, the project ‘Improving Access to Quality Child Protection Services in Mykolaiv’ was launched. It began with a festive event to mark the start of the summer holidays! The children took part in an aromatherapy workshop, where they made their own scented candles and took them home.
Cheerful entertainers, active games, dancing, interactive tasks, and a sea of positivity made this day a real celebration of childhood!
The event left behind a sea of positive emotions and sincere impressions, as evidenced by the feedback from grateful parents. “My daughter made a candle with her own hands for the first time — she was delighted! Thank you for such emotions!” — shares Olga, mother of 9-year-old Daryna. And Mariana, mother of 9-year-old Timur, says that her son talked about every detail of the event for a long time. Such words of support are the best motivation.
The initiative will last five months and will include:
- children’s spaces (permanent and mobile);
- workshops (candle making, pottery, clay modelling, soap making, finger knitting);
- educational and entertainment days: excursions, quests, and more;
- training for staff and volunteers;
- development of life skills in children;
- safety training, including mine safety.
