The municipal enterprise Mykolaivelektrotrans reported that it had completed a mural dedicated to the company’s activities. The mural is located next to a stationary water distribution point. All work to renovate this location was carried out as part of a competition organised by the Mykolaiv Development Agency as part of the global Youth Climate Action Fund programme, supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies and United Cities and Local Governments.
Over the course of a week, young people painted the wall, combining the history of the Mykolaiv tram and its present day in the design. While working on the mural, residents could make a donation to support the 79th brigade. The collection is still ongoing (link in the comments).
The mural at the tram depot can be seen by all Mykolaiv residents who come to collect purified water at the stationary water distribution point.
Yurii Smetana, director of the Mykolaivelektrotrans municipal enterprise, shared his future plans for the space:
“When the heat subsides a little, we will plant an alley of sakura trees here — the trees are already on our territory, where they are being cared for. We hope that we will be able to create a beautiful place that will bring joy to the residents of Mykolaiv and visitors to the city.”
