Mykolaiv and UNOPS: working together for the city’s recovery and development

August 15, 2025

On 15 August, a meeting was held at the Office for Recovery and Development with Mr Massimo Diana, Director of the UNOPS Office in Ukraine. Representing Mykolaiv were Deputy Mayor Serhiy Korenev, Director of the Department of Economic Development Tetiana Shulichenko and Cooperation Advisor Ihor Filippov.

They discussed what has already been done and what we plan to do together in the coming years. The focus is on the restoration of critical infrastructure, the modernisation of social facilities, the medical sector, and more.

Mykolaiv and UNOPS have already implemented a number of projects: comprehensive rehabilitation of two microdistricts in the Korabelny and Zavodsky districts, reconstruction of the M. Arkas Gymnasium, and purchase of equipment and machinery for uninterrupted electricity, water, and heat supply. Currently, a large medical project is being implemented in cooperation with the Office for Recovery and Development and the Health Department, which will improve the quality and accessibility of services for city residents.
