Museum lessons and lectures within the project “Rethinking the Cultural and Historical Heritage of Mykolaiv Region in the Cossack Era: Traditions of Cossack Shipbuilding and its Impact on the Development of the Region in the XV-XVIII Centuries” have come to an end.
This project aims to:
- revival of national consciousness, strengthening of historical regional identity and more.
- research and popularization of the cultural and historical heritage of Mykolaiv region of the Cossack era as a basis for debunking the misconception that the development of our region began only after the Russian Empire captured the Northern Black Sea region;
- confrontation of historical and ideological information influence, fight against Russian propaganda about historical encroachments on Ukrainian lands;
So, on October 4, the first lesson, “Traditions of Cossack Shipbuilding,” was held by Halyna Tretiak, head of the research and education sector and project media specialist.
The next museum lesson, “Cossack Sea Voyages,” took place on October 10, where Halyna was joined by Olena Puchynian, the author and project expert, head of the museum’s exposition department.
Also, on October 17, an interactive lecture “Cossacks – Knights of the Southern Borders” was held, where Olena spoke about the tactics of Cossack battles, types of boats and ships, and other fascinating facts.
On October 29, at 14:00, the Museum of Shipbuilding and Fleet will host a final event, where the team of the NGOAdult learning and education center “South” will present their achievements, arrange a review of the re-exposition and talk to visitors. So, we invite you to the final event-presentation of the re-exhibitions!
The project is implemented by the Adult learning and education center “South” with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation in cooperation with Muzey Shipbuilding and the Mykolaiv Development Agency.
