In February, the Office for Reconstruction and Development hosted a meeting of the working group on public safety and social cohesion. The main purpose of the meeting was for the participants of the UNDP grant competition to present their projects.

In particular, 12 mini-initiatives and project titles were presented:

  • Implementation of the “green room” project in the work of the police of the Mykolaiv territorial community;
  • Creation of a safety class;
  • Organization of routine maintenance of a protective structure in a residential high-rise building;
  • Mobile group for the provision of certain social services;
  • World of hope unites (provision of social services);
  • Social wardrobe with sewing workshop services; Mini-initiatives on public safety and social cohesion were presented in Mykolaiv
  • Eco Mykolaiv;
  • Art space “Dojo” for resource support meetings for youth, veterans, their families, IDPs and other segments of the population;
  • Social sculpture;
  • 3D printing and 3D modeling circle;
  • Development of the concept of the Revolving Fund for assistance to energy modernization of condominiums;
  • Assistance to Mykolaiv region (the project envisages the creation of a volunteer center to train volunteers, provide humanitarian and methodological assistance).

During the presentation of the projects, the participants of the meeting had the opportunity to ask the speakers questions about funding, resources, and the initiative’s own sufficient motivation.

Within a week, representatives of the working group will select the best mini-initiatives that will receive funding from UNDP.

The work of the experts took place within the framework of the project “Youth and Public Office for Development and Interaction” with the assistance of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine and financial support from the Government of Denmark.Mini-initiatives on public safety and social cohesion were presented in Mykolaiv.
