Installation of a solar station at a hospital in Mykolaiv continues

December 31, 2024

A project to install a hybrid solar power plant in a hospital in Mykolaiv is underway. The project will ensure the energy independence of the medical institution and reduce electricity costs.

The hospital will receive a station consisting of:

  • 120 solar panels with a total capacity of 60 kW;
  • 36 kW hybrid inverters;
  • storage batteries with a capacity of 96 kWh.

This system will ensure critical power consumption of individual hospital units for at least three hours.

The total cost of the project is over UAH 5 million. Of this amount, UAH 452.5 thousand is covered by co-financing from the Mykolaiv territorial community (city budget), and the rest is provided by the Yellowblue Force Foundation with financial support from the AlbaCare Foundation.

The plant will be able to generate about 60 thousand kWh of electricity annually, which will allow the hospital to save up to UAH 500 thousand from the budget. This initiative is an important step.

The project under the Light for Hospitals program will be implemented by the Yellowblue Force Foundation with the financial support of the AlbaCare Foundation. The project is coordinated by the Mykolaiv Department of Energy, Energy Saving and Innovative Technologies of the Mykolaiv City Council and the Mykolaiv Development Agency. The installation of the power plant is supported by the NGO Ecoclub.
