Today, on 12 May, we met with representatives of the international organisation Global Care Force. Since September 2022, they have been sending teams of medical volunteers to Ukraine on a monthly basis. The specialists provide primary healthcare to residents of the de-occupied communities.
Representatives of the organisation came to Mykolaiv to get acquainted with the current situation in the city’s healthcare sector. Roxanne Jones, Vice President of International Programmes at Global Care Force, said that since the beginning of 2025, mobile clinics have visited 12 settlements in Mykolaiv Oblast, providing assistance to more than 1,400 patients in April alone.
“This year we have already purchased $20,000 worth of medicines. We buy in Ukraine, we want to support the economy. We also want people to see what kind of medicines they are and to read the instructions,” said Roksana.

The Global Care Force also makes home visits to patients who are unable to get to clinics on their own. For example, the team recently visited a woman who is over 90 years old and has not seen a doctor for a year and a half due to the Russian occupation.
The organisation has expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Mykolaiv, including through exchanges of experience and training for Ukrainian medical professionals.
“We have heard about your needs and requests. We want to be useful to you. So we will try to help,” Roxanne Jones concluded.
