A team of young people from the non-governmental organisation ‘From Idea to Action’ has set up a modern observation deck overlooking the river at the Eco Mobile Park yacht club. The space combines comfortable relaxation with a reminder of the importance of caring for the environment.
They created a cosy area with seven benches, rubbish bins, five trees in mobile pots, and a mural calling for environmental responsibility. Each tree pot has a QR code where you can learn about the history of this project and find out why eco-consciousness is an indispensable part of a modern city, says project author Yevhen Yevsiukov, head of the NGO ‘From Idea to Action’ and the Youth Council at the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.
“I often walked near the yacht club and caught the sunset, but due to the lack of a comfortable space, I could never just sit down and enjoy it. That’s how the idea to create a space came about. I also made it eco-friendly so that people would understand why they shouldn’t spoil the place where they live,” says Yevgeniy Yevsyukov.

The implementation took three months, and today the site is actively used by Mykolaiv residents and visitors to the city. Eco Mobile Park has become not only a place to relax, but also an example of how caring for nature begins with small but systematic steps.
This initiative was implemented thanks to a sub-grant competition organised by the Mykolaiv Development Agency as part of the global Youth Climate Action Fund programme with the support of Bloomberg Philanthropies and United Cities and Local Governments.
Important! Due to the onset of cold weather, the trees will be stored in the premises of the regional yacht club. They will remain there until the beginning of spring.
