The newly established Veterans Employment and Education Office has already hosted a very warm meeting, where the wives and mothers of veterans made snoods — wide loop scarves made of fluffy yarn. Read more about the opening of the Office here.
Each of these women has different occupations in life: teaching, demining, volunteering. And now they have gathered together in a cosy space to relax, chat and create something with their own hands.
Some admitted that they had never known how to knit, but within a few minutes they were working as skillfully as if they had been doing it all their lives. Some joked and shared stories… Two participants even sang Christmas carols that they are learning for Christmas: at that moment, it felt like a real holiday.
