How did you welcome the start of the new school year? On 1 September, we organised a creative day for the pupils, who took part in workshops on making scented candles and finger knitting.
The children chose colours and scents and learned how to work with soft yarn without needles. For many, it was their first experience, but the result pleasantly surprised the students themselves.
For example, eighth-grade student Maxim combined blue colour with a citrus scent in his candle.
‘I liked this workshop. It was my first experience, I had never made candles before,’ the boy explained.
Creativity teaches patience, develops fine motor skills and imagination, says teacher Kateryna.
“The day turned out to be very warm and atmospheric. The combination of knitting and aromatherapy created a special mood: calm, cosy and at the same time inspiring. I was surprised at how quickly the children got involved in the process. Children see the results of their work, which boosts their self-confidence,” Kateryna shared her impressions.
The teacher also noted that in the future, the children would like to try their hand at pottery and attend master classes on providing first aid.
For the schoolchildren, these classes were not only a form of recreation, but also an opportunity to discover their talents, feel creative inspiration, and spend their time usefully. Thank you to everyone who joined us!
