In Kyiv, Mykolaiv Deputy Mayor Serhiy Korenev and Director of the Mykolaiv Development Agency Ihor Filippov took part in a meeting with representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine and alumni of U.S. government exchange programs.
During the meeting, Serhiy Korenev had a separate opportunity to speak with Paul R. Houston, the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Ukraine. They discussed Mykolaiv, the challenges the city faces today, its recovery, and opportunities for further cooperation with American partners.
It is important for the city to have direct contact with international partners — not only to discuss Mykolaiv’s needs but also to showcase the city’s potential, its capabilities, and its readiness for new partnerships and joint projects.
Such meetings provide an opportunity to maintain existing ties, establish new contacts, and gradually translate international dialogue into concrete cooperation for the city.
We also spoke with alumni of U.S. exchange programs from various regions of Ukraine — people with diverse experiences and fields of work, but a shared interest in the development of Ukrainian-American relations.
