Mykolaiv attracts investment in housing reconstruction

January 7, 2026

Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Danish group of companies Vaekstkapital Group (represented by VK Investments Ukraine LLC) at the Office for Restoration and Development. This partnership paves the way for the restoration of the city’s residential infrastructure.

In the future, up to 10,000 apartments will be built. The first stage is a pilot project for 200 apartments to test all mechanisms.

It is important to note that some of the housing will be social, i.e. owned by the community, without the right to sell. The housing will be allocated to socially vulnerable residents and internally displaced persons. The rest of the apartments will be used by investors at their discretion. The exact proportions will be determined in an investment agreement to be signed at a later date.

During the meeting, the head of Vaekstkapital Group ApS, Anders Retz Johansson, the head of the Danish Embassy office in Mykolaiv, Jacob Hansen, the advisor on cooperation issues of the office, Artem Vasalatij, the first deputy director of the Housing and Utilities Department, Igor Nabatov, and the director of the Mykolaiv Development Agency Igor Filippov discussed future steps for cooperation.
