Proactive young people and the public organisation ‘Prospects of the 21st Century’ came up with the idea, developed the concept and won the sub-grant competition. The team at KP ‘Mykolaiv Parks’ is implementing the idea technically: manufacturing and installing special leaf-shaped containers.
There are already 12 containers in the city, and very soon there will be 25. Currently, approximately 200-300 thousand caps have been transferred to the public organisation ‘Association of Law-Conscious Citizens’ for the project ‘Collect caps — give a chance for a full life,’ according to the municipal enterprise.
Please note:
- Only plastic caps from household products — water, milk, kefir, juices, etc. — can be thrown into the containers.
- Do not throw away caps from detergents, medicines or any other rubbish — this complicates recycling.
Each cap is not just a piece of plastic, but a contribution to environmental culture and humanity.
Here is a list of locations where containers have already been installed:
- Rodynnyi Square in Ternivka;
- Kashtaonovy Square;
- Yunykh Heroiv Square;
- T.G. Shevchenko Square;
- Manganarivsky Square;
- Spasky Square;
- Y.I. Makarov Square;
- Soldier Square and Veselynivsky Square in Varvarivka;
- Square at the intersection of Bila Street and G. Almazova Street
- Peremoha Square (green area);
- Korenyugina Square;
- Metalurhiv Square, Vitovskyi Square, and the Universam bus stop on Korabelnyi Street.
The project is being implemented as part of a subgrant competition organised by the Mykolaiv Development Agency within the framework of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Youth Climate Action Fund global programme.
