Mykolaiv as an innovative center for solving water supply problems: Mykolaiv Water Hub is to be opened in the city

February 9, 2024

A German non-governmental organization plans to open a modern innovation center in Mykolaiv called Mykolaiv Water Hub. It will become a center for research, technical development, and implementation of the latest technologies in the fields of water supply, energy, and agri-food technologies.

This was announced on February 9 by the press service of the Mykolaiv City Council.

The founder of the NGO Mykolaiv Water Hub, Anna Montavon, said that the plan is not only to transfer German technology to our city, but also to create all the conditions for the hub to train personnel who can work independently on this equipment, improve and develop its next versions.

“We want to take advantage of all the difficulties in Mykolaiv related to water and turn the city into an innovative center for solving water supply, energy technologies and the agricultural industry. We are interested in attracting relevant specialists to the city,” said Ms. Montavon.

A modern laboratory will also be set up in Mykolaiv, available for use by local universities and Kherson National Technical University.
